You also need to consider material thickness. Don’t accept an aluminum fuel tank that is less than 1/8 inch thick. You should also consider your long-term objectives. Aluminum fuel tanks have some distinct advantages. They are less susceptible to corrosion and lighter than steel so you save fuel over the life of your truck. Although aluminum fuel tanks have some advantages over steel, you might want to consider upgrading to stainless steel fuel tanks.
