April 4, 2025Understanding Why The BCA100XS SuperFlex CradleTM Is Critical
For Behind Cab Hydraulic Reservoir Installations
The SuperFlex Cradle was created specifically to support and protect behind-cab hydraulic tanks.
It is important to understand just how critical it is to isolate the behind-cab tank from vibrations and twisting of the truck frame. Trucks that are outfitted with hydraulic systems are often driven on uneven surfaces such as construction sites and other off-road conditions. In doing so, the truck frame twists and bends, not only due to uneven terrain, but also from engine torque when heavily loaded. The twisting action of the chassis is actually considered normal behavior. A frame that flexes better accommodates uneven terrain.
Hydraulic Tanks Should Not Twist
If a hydraulic reservoir were to be strapped or bolted directly to the truck chassis, the twisting action will inevitably transfer to the tank. Over time this action will result in metal fatigue that produces weld failure or cracks in the metal. Even the best-made hydraulic tank cannot endure this type of abuse over time.
The solution? Isolate the hydraulic tank from the twisting motion by incorporating a three-point suspension. This is the job of the BCA 100XS SuperFlex Cradle. The assembly connecting the cradle to the frame is bolted through springs. When the truck frame twists, the cradle absorbs the movement of the chassis. This completely isolates the reservoir, from the twisting effect. For years the BCA 100XS SuperFlex Cradle has proven itself time and time again to reliably protect hydraulic behind-cab tanks in the most rugged applications.
The BCA100XS SuperFlex Cradle is suitable for 55 to 100 gallon models – BCA55X, BCA75X, BCA100X
