A split tank, often referred to as a split fuel tank or split fuel hydraulic tank, provides transport for both hydraulic fluid and fuel in one tank.  Split tanks are installed on trucks for the purpose of reducing weight and conserving space on the vehicle.  They combine a hydraulic reservoir to store hydraulic fluid that powers onboard equipment together with a chamber that holds the vehicle’s fuel.  

Kenworth split fuel tanks are designed to hold both fuel and oil in one tank that is separated by a divider.  The divider in our split tanks are a dual wall design.  This is to prevent cross contamination of the two fluids, in the event of a breach.  As with every tank we build, we pressure test split tanks to ensure that not even a pin-hole exists anywhere in the tank before we ship it to you.  We pressure test both chambers independently.  We design split tanks to meet government regulations and to ensure long-term quality and durability.
