A Peterbilt 379 split fuel tank provides space for both hydraulic fluid and fuel in one tank. Split tanks are installed on trucks for the purpose of reducing weight and conserving space on the vehicle. They combine a hydraulic reservoir to store hydraulic fluid to power onboard equipment together with a chamber that holds the vehicle’s engine fuel.
Peterbilt split fuel tanks are made to hold both fuel and oil in one tank that is separated by a divider. The divider in our split tanks is a dual wall design.
