Building Peterbilt Fuel/ Hydraulic Tanks Since 1995
If you need a combination Peterbilt fuel hydraulic tank we can build it for you. We get a lot of requests for Peterbilt 379 hydraulic tanks as well as many other Peterbilt models.
We also do something that’s very uncommon nowadays – we’ll assist you with a custom design at no extra charge.
You may not need a custom tank however. Check out the variety of standard hydraulic tanks we offer in our hydraulic tank catalog. If a standard tank won’t do, we’ll be pleased to build a Peterbilt fuel tank combo fuel & hydraulic to your specifications. The material choice is up to you – steel, stainless and aluminum.
Critical Facts To Consider For Your Peterbilt Fuel/ Hydraulic Tank:
- The hydraulic tank must be large enough to allow the returning fluid to slow down as it enters. This is to allow contaminants to settle to the bottom and the entrained air to escape to the surface
- There must be ample air space above the fluid to accept bubbles that float to the surface
- It needs a baffle to separate fluid entering the reservoir from fluid that is exiting through the suction line
- A hydraulic tank has to have a large surface area to cool the fluid by transferring heat from the fluid to the air
- An aluminum hydraulic tank will dissipate heat better than steel
- You’ll need easy access to remove old fluid and contaminants and add new fluid
- Every hydraulic reservoir must be properly sized to allow for hot-fluid expansion, gravity drain-back during system shutdown, and storage of large enough volume to supply fluid during occasional peak periods during operating cycles
We look forward to the opportunity to earn your business.
